So yes, I've been searching stores high and fucking low trying to find Pumpkin Spice. I've been trying to find just Pumpkin Spice but while searching I managed to find something quite possibly better, though the actual Pumpkin Spice remains something of an elusive legendary treasure, I still found this;
Kraft Jet-Puffed Pumpkin SpiceMallows: Because if reality and fate have to mock me with a big 'fuck you, bitch' and a middle finger in my face for my quest to find Pumpkin Spice then at least they had the good taste to mock me and deliver something epic in the same gesture. This mocking I can handle, this mocking I can handle and live with quite happily. Of course I turn back to my quest for Pumpkin Spice and in trying to actually find Pumpkin Spice or even Pumpkin Pie Spice I've asked and had several employee's of several stores asked typically eliciting a slack-jawed 'what the fuck are you talking about?' stare, really? Is Pumpkin or Pumpkin Pie spice that rare? It seemed common before.. Just a year or so before.. Now it's some sort of rare treasure that can only be found in the deepest and darkest corners of the earth that I've yet to discover? Well, whatever.. Point is, my search and ceaseless hawk-eye kept out for this single ingredient brought the rough likeness to my minds forefront when I barely glanced over it and for that I am thankful because I otherwise would have missed these. Thank you borderline unhealthy obsessiveness.
First of all, kudos to Kraft. They didn't go half ass on these and make just marshmallows that tasted like Pumpkin Spice which would have been enough for me to be honest but in the true nature of the Halloween October/November spirit they made them pumpkin shaped and to my great surprise when picking six random pieces from the bag, they're actually pretty consistently shaped and fuckin' adorable.. I mean aside from the deformity here and there that's an inevitability of the product no doubt having been stocked by someone who takes their frustrations in life out on the merchandise (and it's Walmart, I'm sure there are maaaany frustrations for a Walmart employee in any aspect of life) or having been slightly malformed by heat, being squished or any number of things that could damage their delicate forms they're actually more or less all pumpkin shaped. More or less.. I guess if your pumpkins vaguely resemble the ghost-turds in the Monster Cereals which isn't necessarily a bad thing.. Second of all, another set of kudos to Kraft. They actually taste good, like not just good really fucking good, these don't just have a hint of pumpkin flavour, they're full-on pumpkin pie flavoured and leave a pleasant after-taste in your mouth after they're gone. The flavour is actually quite strong and the flavour of the marshmallow itself is only enhanced by the extra pumpkin spice quality, I've got to say.. These are some of the best fucking marshmallows I've ever had the pleasure of trying and I've tried a lot of marshmallow flavours in my time.. It's a shame these won't be but seasonal items because I can see these selling big time if they were sold year-round and Kraft actually gave them a little bump with advertisements.
Next subject is dinner;
This is a new take on my earlier Masutadososu no tartar no sake (Mustard-sauce Tartar Salmon) and it is called Yaki-tate masutadososu no sake (Baked salmon in mustard sauce), it's a bit different from the earlier incarnation in that I used some unique ingredients and changed up the recipe just a smidge enough to make it a unique meal all it's own. The bedding this time is a shredded satsumaimo (sweet potato), noodle and asparagus with a slight cheese sauce mixed in and the sake (salmon) on top is just lightly seasoned by salt and pepper before the whole dish was baked all together to a perfectly cooked.. Uh.. NHHRR.. HNRRR.. PERFECTION.. Unhh.. The Anpan? Filled with a special mint chocolate Anko (Sweet Red Bean Paste) and the Ume no raisu purin (Plum Rice Pudding) was topped and added with a helping of new pumpkin-flavoured marshmallows, hooooly. Yes, it came out nicely. I'm not super proud of it, but I'm pretty damn proud of it. I think I did nicely.

Ugh, I wish I read this before going to WalMart earlier. >_<

...
*craves mint chocolate chip icecream*
... It's probably a bad thing that mentioning a flavor has this effect on me. =x
Sake /is/ a word for Japanese rice-wine but is also a word for Salmon. Depends on where and how it's used and in what context.
