Random Ruckus & Magnificent Maguro

Given that I already did a Birthday post but since I did my Birthday post the 30th, the day we chose to celebrate my Birthday has passed and the 31st, my actual Birthday has past as well (My Birthday being December 31st) Some things were gained that weren't around on the 30th when I typed out my Birthday post and some other things have happened/past by that I figured would work well into a blog post.. So lo and behold here we have a semi continuation of my previous Birthday post and alternatively some new stuff that has nothing to do with my Birthday and everything to do with randomness and celebrating the nature of asinine things.

Some of my more loyal readers that keep up to date with this blog and show up regularly may remember a while ago (quite a while ago) I made a post about a Marshmallow Pop which looked suspiciously like Mickey Mouse in drag - Supposedly and allegedly it was Minnie Mouse but if that's the case, Minnie appears to be suffering the pangs of the past decades and isn't aging very gracefully.. In fact Minnie appears to be becoming quite horrifying.. Like Phyllis Diller horrifying..

Yeah, your soul? Forfeit.

Minnie isn't close behind and taking this out from it's hiding place where it's been quite comfortably preserved, it's finally come to the point that I've decided to devour this little horror.

But I didn't expect what was waiting for me when it was unwrapped.. It's evil radiated off it like stink off a skunk and I was instantly struck by a sense of impending doom; the beast had to be dealt with!

I plunged my worthy blade deep into the beasts heart, I stabbed at thee! It's death-cries echoed through the apartment complex which luckily is a place where no one gives a shit about anyone else so no one bothered to call the cops even when someone screamed bloody murder - It was almost done and at the very least the beast was disabled; one way to be sure it was over for good, however.

Take it's head.. The gruesome beast dealt with, I began to pay more attention to petty secondary things like flavour, consistency, and taste.. Well.. It's not that great, in fact it's kind of like it's appearance. Sure it's a Disney character for sure but whether it's Mickey or Minnie is up to question and truthfully? It's appearance reflects it's flavour; meh.

If you've ever had a stale Peep you've had this Marshmallow Pop and it's not just because I've had it for a little while, this thing was clearly just not high quality stuff. That's odd because Peeps are usually 0.32 Cents for 6 individual Peeps - This is just one and honestly while it's a little larger, it's really low quality. Normal Peeps are just generally very sweet without any real discernible flavour, this one though? It has a low quality very nasty chemical taste to it, the dyes I suspect. I actually only ate half of this before I threw the rest of it away, it was quite bad..

I'd expect more from something marketed by Disney but then in my original post I had suspected that if it weren't for the fact that this came from Walgreens this may possibly be a boot-legged item (forgery) - Why would someone forge a Marshmallow Pop? I have no clue.. Maybe just for the sake of having one of the Mouses pulling in the bucks, maybe they actually sell well? At any rate, this thing is dead.. It's good because I was beginning to have visions of a possible Fourth Reich and the Maus Organization heading it. Scary stuff.

THEN we come to a second product, something I received recently that was so good I had to write about it. That product?

Chester's Cheese PuffCorn:

It's just $2 U.S. for a big ass bag of these, they come from Walgreens or at least the bag I got did which means that with James' employee discount these were pretty damn cheap. Did they taste cheap? Hells to the naw, these are fucking good.

From first appearances you'd think that these were normal Pop Corn or alternatively when you first look at the actual pieces in the bag you'd be disappointed as I was to think that they were just normal Cheeto's Puffs that had been re-labeled and re-purposed, something I hate companies for doing.. I was wrong though, so very wrong.. And I'm happy I was wrong too, I gotta tell you.

These are weird, I mean fuckin' weird. I wasn't expecting the texture or consistency at all when I got these and I definitely wasn't prepared for what I was met with, Illidan was probably giggling like a school girl on his throne "Tehehehehe! She was NOT prepared!" - Bastard.. Glad I quit World of Warcraft.. - These are surprisingly un-puff like and un-Pop Corn like, they're rather kind of like some aberrant mutant hybrid that enters into your mouth with a dynamic entry, surprises you, and then proceeds to make sweet love to your taste buds, spilling and coating them with it's flaky orange jism.

..Wow..

Yeah.. We're at that point already again..

Each individual bite out of these is odd, they're Pop Corn mind you but they're Pop Corn that is met with the airy and light form of the Cheese Puff.. This results in something that's even more light and airy making it almost cottony in the way it feels in your mouth.. Without having it wet at all you can pop one into your mouth and instantly crush it with your tongue and it becomes smooth, light, and extremely pleasing. Taste-wise the cheese flavour on these is really strong and that's definitely a good thing, there's powder all up in these mutha's and they're delicious. This is probably the best Cheeto's product I've ever tried, I hope they keep them around because they're freakin' amazing and I gobbled them up like they were nothing.

A little bit of reiteration is next on the list although given I've had more time and more Pop Tarts than I scarcely know what to do with thanks to the awesomeness of my beloved super-viewer <3 I've had time to play with Pop Tarts and really try some different things with them. I've found two things out.

1. Confetti Cake is really good frozen but really tough to chew. It becomes like a kind of stiff taffy, it's not entirely impossible but slightly unpleasant while being so good it's worth it.

2. If you oven warm these to the point that they're neigh molten inside these are amazing, both Pop Tarts including the Confetti Cake and Cookies 'n' Cream expand slightly and become super soft which is unsurprising. Frozen they're gummy and taffy-like and neigh molten they're soft and cakey.

Thanks be to my new camera, these things look even better than they did before. Oh man and they taste just as good as they look, both of these are neigh molten; trust me.. You wouldn't want to try to bite into one at the time of these photographs. It's kind of unfortunate I'm running out of Confetti Cake but it makes sense, it's the single box that was gotten for my Birthday - I find it amusing that I didn't actually get a Birthday Cake at all but instead my awesome and epic reader bought me a Confetti Cake Pop Tart box which is ironic and amusing as shit to me.

I'm really still blown away by all this, to think that such random kindness still exists in the world. It's good for me because as a Buddhist and person I've become pessimistic and suspicious of the world, this just brings me back to a simpler place. I feel good thinking about such random acts of kindness, it lets me know good still exists; kind people are still out there.

Final subject is my new camera phone which I wanted to show off, it's awesome and matches my outfits (my favourite colours being brown and green) - It was time for an upgrade and I got one for my Birthday, this phone is epic.

It's awesome and sports the Jolly Roger I made for my own personal Pirate Flag, the Kuro Tetsuno Neko (Black Iron Cat Pirates) Jolly Roger and also it's just epic as shit. It's the most technologically advanced phone I've ever had before - I'm also mad about that little keyboard, texting is so much easier and more fun now!

Also.. This photograph was taken with a camera phone of a camera phone. This is where some weird spacial anomaly tears through reality, right?

Printed Fun Bonus:

I'm beginning to wonder if each of these sleeves of Printed Fun Pop-Tarts will have unique pictures or if they'll eventually repeat themselves? Who knows? For now until they're gone I'll be posting the new pictures I find as I tear through this box of Pop-Tarts and it's sugar cookie deliciousness.


Microwave Bonus!:

Lookit! Our new beautiful microwave donated to us by people who love and care for us, we're extremely thankful to them! It's 10xs better than the microwave that we had before, it unfortunately died.. It was here in this apartment complex when we moved in and sadly seemed to simply have run through the course of it's life-span.

It's really not surprising when you consider that the first time I ever used the oven in this apartment and opened the door on the front I was nearly taken out by a literal fire-ball which exploded out from the door and licked the ceiling. Evidently no one bothered to clean the grease caked at the bottom of the oven and so.. Yeah.. Poof.. That was fun..

PS: First thing I made with my microwave? Warm milk for Anpan (Sweet Roll) dough which turned out flawlessly! Yay, my new microwave contributed to perfection on it's first day out!

 Dinner:

Tonight's dish is Chimatsuri maguro (Bloodbath Tuna) and is named such because it's got a slightly red tint and honestly to me it looked like guts or something spilled out over the bowl.. Mm.. Yum.. Guts..

It actually consists of noodles, a white sauce with Japanese ketchup added in, mushrooms, peas, tuna, and some other miscellaneous spices and came with a slow oven-baked potato topped by butter and a White Chocolate Peanut Butter Anpan (Sweet Roll) with a little bit of honey drizzled over the top.
