The state of fast-food and healthy alternatives & Beautiful Buta

I truthfully wonder why people are so taken by fast-food, why are so many modern countries obsessed with fast-food chains and fast-food itself? As unhealthy and nutritionally unsound as it is you'd think that fewer would be such fans of it. I mean after all, are there not cheaper and healthier alternatives out there to fast-food?

I think it's probably convenience that attracts people to fast-food, I mean.. Let's face it.. People today are lazy, it's a fact of society. Most of them don't want to be bothered to actually put effort into a meal, let alone cook; it's kind of sad really.. Especially since it's leading much of the world into an obesity epidemic as more and more children are taught eating habits and brought up in environments that are extremely nutritionally damaging.

And it's even more sad as well because it's damaging in a way more than just nutritionally - At an age where most children's ultimate life-time self esteem is being paved out this is just another damaging effect and experience that will no doubt cause them to develop into a self-loathing and disturbed individual that has low self-esteem and lives in denial of their problems..

Whatever the case it's fast-food that contributes to a lot of these problems.. This is why when I see healthier alternatives that are both delicious and affordable at fast-food chains that I'm so tempted to root for them and applaud their efforts - This is the focus of the article believe it or not; something positive that I wish to praise rather than negative in spite of the articles start - I'm simply voicing my opinion and sadness at seeing the human race in such straights and my desire to see the human race improve itself and get over these problems. Perhaps pointing these healthy alternatives out will help.. Perhaps not.. Who knows? It'll be fun at any rate.

Mackers McChicken:
It actually surprises me that I'm saying this but with stats like these;

370 calories
16g fat, 3.5g saturated fat

The McChicken Sandwich here is actually healthier than it's grilled counter-parts which is strange because in the grand scheme of things we tend to assume that something grilled is going to be healthier than something fried. Some how that's not the case with this sandwich, I don't know how. Fucking fast-food logic, goddamn fast-food chains are capable of bullshitting with reality and screwing with the very fabric of time and space evidently. Goddamn you Ronald McDonald, I know your secret!

At any rate I actually find this sandwich strangely appetizing, it doesn't seem like it'd really be that bad to have to eat it. I think I'd rather replace it's mayonnaise for something else, though. A lot of the fat and calories comes from the mayonnaise and there are plenty of other condiments lower calorie that would taste just as good if not better on this sandwich.

Taco Bell Fresco Style Grilled Steak Soft Taco:
We're going with the sand-meat taco! O lawd the sand-meat taco except this version is delightfully free of it's silica strangeness - It's got steak instead! ...It's also actually pretty damn tasty looking, isn't it?

Well, here are it's stats;

170 calories
5.0g fat, 1.5g saturated fat

Surprisingly this little fucker ain't bad for you either, it's quite an acceptable alternative and choice.. Very much so considering it's a pretty decent sized taco and very filling with the inclusion of steak rather than beach-sand taco-filling.. I wonder if the cow used for the steak was given a day at the beach before it was slaughtered for the taco? I'd like to think the cow sun-bathed on the beach for a bit, infusing itself with beach-sand as well in some way we'd never know about, and providing a sun-cured sort of taste to the beef itself.. Yeah.. Must of been a fucking suicidal cow.

Goddamn emo cows. Emo's infected even our beef! FUCK!

Dessert
Taco Bell Cinnamon Twists:
Couldn't end the article without giving you a delicious alternative to dessert - Since the last item was Taco Bell and I love Churros I couldn't resist the urge to add Taco Bells Tex-Mex bullshit 'Mexican' iteration of the Churro, the Taco Bell Cinnamon Twists.

These things are mother fucking delicious. Their stats follow;

170 calories
60g fat, 0g saturated fat

There's nothing really at Taco Bell that counts as honest and genuine Mexican cuisine, the fact of the matter is a coconut is about as Mexican as anything at Taco Bell but nevertheless these little bastards and things like them make Taco Bell worth going to. I may never eat one of their beach tacos again but I'd go for these in a heart-beat.. Though come to think of it given the granules of what I assume to be cinnamon sugar on these they may be prime items to hide sand in or on in plain sight.

Fuck..

Taco Bell is out to get me..

Dinner:
Simple dinner tonight, simple dinner that a lot of hard work went into and that came out delicious. It's a great sweet and addictive good Buta no kaku ni (Pork Cube Stew) - Yum yum!
A tasty sweet soy broth, potatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and of course cubes of pork made up the main dish creating a pretty and happy stew which sat there looking so damn good.
With a baked apple and a nice Gingerbread Anpan (Sweet Roll) it was a perfect meal that James gobbled up and even finished the broth which is rare as hell and tells me it was truly impressively good. Rock on!

  1. Years ago I ate some McDonald's and ever since then, if I have any of their food (with meat) I get..violent diarrhea. Wtf is in their food? I know most fast food chains use fillers and MSG and other chemicals up the ass but Burger King or Wendys never did that to me.

    I dont eat fast food anymore. I only did it for school sports when we had long trips to away games. We would stop at local places to order food.

    I suggest you watch several food documentaries like Food Inc and several other (even better ones) that talk about fast food, GMO, organic foods etc.

    As for the last pictures, what a good looking meal. Sometimes you can really see the difference effort makes in taste. Nothing like a home cooked meal.

  2. I won't eat fast-food really anymore either but it's a good and interesting subject to touch on in articles and I figure if I can amuse and be at least vaguely informative at the same time then what the hell, why not?

    Thank you, I appreciate the compliment.
