Walgreens Pleasant Pretzels

Walgreens Pleasant Pretzels, yep.. That's the name of this article, can you guess what the article is going to be about?

...Seriously, if you actually didn't know or figure it out, kill yourself. Right fucking now I don't care how or with what, kill yourself. You must not be permitted to reproduce or even have the vague possibility of reproducing and you're using up resources that obviously aren't being utilized properly because if they were you'd have come to the conclusion that this article is about PRUNES! LOTS OF GODDAMN PRUNES!

..No, I fuck with you.. The article is about Pretzels, Pretzels recently sampled from Walgreen's that I now shall review for the thankless masses! Let's get to it then, shall we?

Nice! Mini Twist Pretzels:
One thing I love about Pretzels is that they're filling, I mean really filling. Eating four of these feels literally like I've eaten quite a bit and that's not a bad thing because frankly I like my snacks to last me longer than a single day. This snack does, big time.. I mean it's not just that Pretzels provide substantial bite for your buck but also the fact that the bag is so goddamn huge.

Nice! is Walgreen's own personal in-store brand, changed previously from whatever the hell it was before (and it was something else before, Deerfield Farms I think) to the new name which aggressively declares that the product is Nice! and don't you fucking forget it. Walgreen's sells rope, duct tape, knives and saws, punk.

It's interesting because these are just your run of the mill and average Pretzels but they're actually quite good, uncommonly so. I mean I've had other Pretzels in the past and they were just kind of 'meh' in comparison to these.. These being cheap as hell too, they won't run your tab into the ground.

I love that four of these feel substantial, they're small but they're deceptive and it's nice because they're also pretty low Calorie; 17 of these fuckers is only 110 Calories which is pretty good considering I can't eat 17 of them in one sitting. Taste-wise? They're what you expect but a little better than other Pretzels out there, they're very fresh for one and very smooth, providing a nice crunch initially that gives way and breaks down into a smooth and creamy enjoyable mastication that slides pleasurably down your throat with it's salty goo-Oh my god what am I saying?!

Yeah..

8.5/10 Big Cat Paws - Definitely worth a try, these are damn good.

DE-LISH Raspberry & Blueberry Yogurt Pretzels:

Evidently Walgreen's recently acquired this brand DE-LISH from one of their subsidiaries, Duane Reade’s, a company founded in 1960. These new products are marketed under the DE-LISH label but make no mistake, as a subsidiary of Walgreen's this means the brand is technically owned by Walgreen's themselves.

Who gives a shit about the history or specifics of the damn brand or company though? You're here and reading because you're interested in the actual Pretzels so let's get to them! I really don't mind, trust me.. You'll know why shortly.

First we'll start with the Raspberry;

These were actually the first I tried and my initial reaction to them was a positive one, opening the bag they were very aromatic and smelled strongly of a very sweet and tempting Raspberry, I shuddered to think what something so aromatic would taste like and at first dreaded even putting one of these in my mouth because frankly things with such a strong scent are typically tooth-achingly sweet.

They were not. The flavour is definitely strong and it's quite prevalent in these, very noticeable and very rich but it's not bad, it doesn't cause a tooth-ache. My initial bite on these brought the sweetness of the smooth and surprisingly creamy and moist Raspberry Yogurt which coated them, tasting strongly of a definite Artificial but not unpleasant Raspberry flavour, the Yogurt melted easily and gave way to the undertones of the Pretzel which amazingly complimented the sweetness with a delicious salty crunch.. Mm!

Oh these were quite good but as I ate a few more I began to notice that they were in fact quite strong and that it was becoming a tad over-bearing and beginning to feel like it was 'overloading' my taste-buds because the experience gradually became less pleasurable.. Eventually after two or so I put these away and moved on..

The Blueberry bag was equally as pungent upon opening the bag, that's not a bad thing mind you; these things smell amazing and if there was a way to use them as air-fresheners I goddamn would in a heart-beat.. And then probably eat the air-freshener and potentially have a serious problem on my hands or at the very least an interesting follow-up trip to the bathroom later.

The Blueberry was less pronounced in it's first bite, carrying the same texture tones as the Raspberry had with the delightfully melty, smooth and creamy Yogurt and the undertone of the salty crunchy Pretzel which just goes so damn well together but the flavour itself was a little less strong and I found myself strangely wishing for the Raspberry again.

It's not bad it's just I found that I prefer the overbearing sweetness upon second consideration and taste of the Raspberry with the salty Pretzel than the Blueberry, the Blueberry was still very good and very tasty.

All in all?

The Raspberry gets 8.2/10 Big Cat Paws

and the Blueberry? 6.2/10 Big Cat Paws

Both are above averagely delicious snacks and both are worth having but if I were to have them again I'd probably choose the Raspberry

Dinner:
Yay! Simple but awesome dinner tonight, Hanbagusuteki (Hamburger Steak) the Japanese version of Hamburger which is quite popular in Japan and has been for a very long time. A beautifully cross-grilled Hamburger Steak with a delicious savoury and spicy Japanese Yellow Sauce (home-made) resting on a bed of Steamed Rice and Sweet Peas along with a creamy Pumpkin Ginger Anpan (Sweet Roll)

Yum yum!

And this dinner for James? He gobbled it up verily, I'm very happy.
