Walgreens Wonderful Wildlife

In the deep dark.. Eh.. Deep.. Fluorescent lit recesses of the local Walgreen's?

...Doesn't quite carry that ominous tone, does it? ...Or maybe it does when I consider the stories James has told me from the time he's been working there, with customers being as they are and the public in general being as it is I can see this place seeming quite predatory and remorseless.. Yikes..

...Sufficed to say I don't trust customers at Walgreen's or the general public in.. Well.. General.. If I had to work there I think my already jaded disposition might reach new levels no one thought possible before.. Yeah.. Still lately at least if in only the slightest way my jaded perception of the world has been altered a little, we've actually gotten.. gasp.. Decent neighbors who have become our dearest friends which is a nice change since I'm used to.. Y'know.. Thankless assholes I want to punch in the damned face.. It's nice and uplifting to see some of that 'Old Fashioned' good for goodness in people though, it's a rare thing and I had thought it long dead.

Buuut enough with ramblings about my personal life. We were discussing Walgreen's who up until recently had their store-brand products under the 'Deerfield Farms' brand which has now for some odd reason been changed to NICE!

Yes, NICE! And that's how it's typed.. Rather aggressive, ain't it? ...Honestly it kind of makes me think Walgreen's is insisting to me that their products are NICE! and that they also sell some very NICE! rope, hammers, saws, knives and duct tape in their store so I should be inclined to agree with them.. And.. Uh.. Yeah.. For the most part I think I do and will..

I will confess that back when they were Deerfield Farms I reviewed a product which I found rather disgusting but for the most part the Deerfield Farms and NICE! brand have been fairly kind to me and my palette. Such is the case with this product;

NICE! Animal Crackers:

Now let me start by stating, I am a stupid simple person. I mean stupid simple, I'm amused by the dumbest shit, I'm fairly easy to please and I don't have many aspirations in the world or delusions of grandeur.. Naturally then I'm a fan of the simplest treats of bygone years and whose going to deny that Animal Crackers aren't one? You know each and every person in this world has had at least one Animal Cracker I'd bet and each and every one probably can't say they actually disliked it. Maybe you didn't love them but you definitely didn't hate them I'm betting.

I for one love Animal Crackers, they're one of my favourite snacks by far and always have been.. That's why I was ecstatic when James brought me home this big bag of the fuckers and I immediately knew I had to review them!

First of all there are the shapes or the alleged shapes as the case typically is and probably will be I thought.. Shapes are important and you know I think most companies realize they needed to include a guide because most of their shapes don't actually look like the goddamn animal they're meant to represent but rather an amorphous aberrant blob which.. Yeah.. I've never seen one of those in the wild but.. Whatever.. Remember the Jungle Book Animal Crackers? ...'Nuff said..

So are the shapes what they're cracked up to be? Let's see.. There's a Lion, Hippo, Buffalo, Goat, Rhino, Bear, Cow, Tiger, Horse and Cat.. So we're not exactly going with a single theme here.. We're kinda all over the goddamn map with these animals but alright.. Whatever..

And it really surprised me but for the most part these Animal Crackers represent their shapes pretty well.. Except I'm pretty sure one of those is a fucking Camel and a Camel wasn't represented on the back so I'm confused.. But.. Whatever.. I actually managed to pick two which are probably easy to predict as being my favourite shapes..

The 'Cat' and 'Tiger', durh. Big Cat? Hi.. Yeah, use your noggin'. If you hadn't figured out these were going to be my favourites you have some problems which probably warrant some exploration.

How about the taste though? They're fairly Animal Crackery.. Which is to say they definitely taste like Animal Crackers should but I picked up on something unique in these, you see.. The back says that their ingredient list contains among other things 'Nutmeg', it's surprising because I actually picked up on the Nutmeg flavour before even reading the back which is nice because it's a super pleasant flavour with these. There's also a sort of 'buttery' sort of flavour in these which is odd seeing as butter isn't actually used in the making of these.. Strange I thought but.. Whatever..

These are some of the best damn Animal Crackers I've had. like the NICE! Pretzels I've reviewed these are definitely snacks worth looking into, trying and enjoying. Honestly the NICE! Animal Crackers get 9.0/10 Big Cat Paws. They could be a little sweeter and maybe stronger flavoured but they're damn near perfect.



Dinner:

Dinner for James tonight was Jagaimo Itame (Potato Stir-fry) and is a beautiful Noodle stir-fry of Noodles, Carrots, Sweet Peas, Mushrooms and large chunks of Potatoes which have been baked before hand to crispy perfection. This is all stir-fried in a pan with my special savoury spiced Asian Yellow Sauce and comes complete with a Sweetened Multi Fruit Anpan (Sweet Roll)

Came out looking very nice I'll say.
